Antônio de Pádua Braga received a B.Sc degree in Electrical Engineering (1987) and a Master Degree degree in Computer Science (1991), both from Federal University Minas Gerais, Brazil. My Ph.D. on Electrical Engineering was obtained from the University of London, Imperial College in 1995, in Recurrent Neural Networks. Since 1991, He has been with the Electronics Engineering Department at Federal University of Minas Gerais where he is now a Full Professor.
He is the a co-author of the book Redes Neurais Artificiais, published by Livros Técnicos e Científicos since 2001. He has been in the editorial board of International Journal of Computational Intelligence and Applications, of which he was co-editor in chief and founder. He has coordinated international cooperation research projects with European universities, one being under the CAPES-COFECUB agreement with the University of Paris VI, France, and another under the FNRS-CNPq agreement with the Catholic University of Louvain (Louvain-la-Neuve), Belgium. During the 2007-2008 academic year I was a visiting professor (research) at the Department of Computing Science of University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada.
He has published more than 40 papers in refereed journals and has supervised about 50 post-graduate students so far.
